Cultural Classes

Through the Tribe's Red Earth Cultural Program, citizens and community members of all ages have opportunities to learn about and engage with Haliwa-Saponi history, traditions, and cultural practices. Classes and activities may include basketry, beadwork, canoe making, dancing, drumming, language, leatherworking, powwow traditions, pottery, sewing, singing, stone carving, storytelling, traditional medicine, woodworking, and more. Whether you are a parent seeking cultural learning opportunities for your family or a cultural knowledge keeper committed to preserving traditions for future generations, there is something for everyone.
